In brief
Your CNetID and password provide access to various NSIT-administrated services such as WebShare, cMail, and Chalk as well as several other accounts and services administered by University departments. Once your affiliation with the University ends, your CNet account is locked. You can re-enable your access for a one-time 7-day "Amnesty" period. This is a safety measure to ensure that all account holders have had adequate time to retrieve any files or email they may have forgotten to get before accounts were locked. Amnesty allows you to unlock your account until up to one year later. Once you elect to begin your account Amnesty, you may not stop, restart, or extend it. You will have one week to remove your files from your account (email, Webshare, files stored on Harper, etc.). Once the Amnesty period is over, your files will be deleted and will not be retrievable.
