Add money to my Chicago Card for photocopies, laundry or vending machines
In brief
The thin CashStripe on the back of your Chicago Card eliminates the need to carry cash to make photocopies and do your laundry in the residence halls. You may add up to $50 of purchasing value to your Chicago Card at any one of the many Cash Value Centers or at the card readers located on the library copiers. These funds are not linked to an on-line account and there is no record kept of the money you put on your CashStripe, so if you lose or damage your Chicago Card, you also lose the money on it. Please take care of your Chicago Card, and keep track of it at all times. Money applied to the CashStripe is the same as cash. Therefore, if your card is lost, stolen or damaged, these funds cannot be recovered. There are no refunds for unused monies that remain on the card.   
Do it now
Add money to your Chicago Card at any one of the many Cash Value Centers or at the card readers located on the library copiers. The Cash Value Centers are located at:

  • Crerar Library
  • Law Library
  • Reynolds Club
  • The University of Chicago Bookstore
  • Pierce Hall
  • Max Palevsky Central
  • Burton-Judson Courts
  • The Shoreland Hall
