In brief
Audio Visual Services now offers assistive listening devices (ALDs) and guidelines to individuals planning on-campus events open to the public. ALDs amplify sound directly into the ears of people with hearing loss and are now expected to be at events in case a member of the audience asks to use one.
At least 24 business-hours in advance of an event, the Event Organizer will need to make arrangements to obtain portable ALDs for your event. For guidelines and instructions on how to obtain an ALD, visit http://nsit.uchicago.edu/services/audiovisual/ald/index.shtml. |
