In brief
Some University of Chicago Library resources are restricted to on campus usage. Links to these restricted resources should be formatted so that you don't need to take any action besides logging in with your CNetID and password. If you are denied access to these resources, you may have to go through the campus web proxy.

If you receive an "Access Denied" error when trying to access a library resource from off campus, you can manually invoke the proxy by following these Web Proxy instructions.
